Martin Barber is VP, People and Capabilities at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, having previously held the post of People and Capabilities Director at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence. Martin has a long career spanning public sector, financial services and IT services in a variety of roles that have covered a number of geographies.
Leading People and Capabilities, Martin is responsible for an organisation that encompasses our Consultants, Programme and Project Managers, Engineers and Global Delivery Centres in mainland Europe and lower cost locations.
In addition, the People team comprises People Partners supporting all areas of Digital Intelligence, D&I leadership and the provision of Reward, Talent, Learning and Development, Payroll and other essential employee supporting services.

Martin joined us from IBM where he was Vice President, Europe Delivery, Global Technology Services. In that role, he was responsible for all IT service delivery throughout the region and the leadership of a large workforce based throughout mainland Europe and lower cost geographies.

Prior to IBM, Martin was Group COO, Banking and Payments, EMEA and Managing Director, EMEA Core Banking at Fidelity Information Services (FIS), the global fintech company. Before FIS, Martin spent eleven years at Hewlett Packard where his roles included COO of HP’s UK Defence and Security business; Head of Retail, Financial Services and Consumer Industries ITO in EMEA; Client Executive at the Department for Work and Pensions and Head of Industrialised Delivery in the UK. He also held a number of global account and delivery leadership roles at some of HP’s most significant clients.

In the earlier parts of his career Martin became a partner at KPMG, was a Vice President, at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and spent a number of years at the Nationwide Building Society.
