At BAE Systems Applied Intelligence we believe in creating an open and inclusive workplace. We are proud of our organisational culture where employees with varying perspectives, skills, life experiences and backgrounds – the best and brightest minds – can work together to achieve excellence. The OutlinkUK group has been active for over five years now and is a very valuable part of this effort in our business, both within the UK and where our UK business reaches around the world.
BAE Systems Applied Intelligence plays a key role in OutLinkUK in 2020, including:
- Our managing director, Julian Cracknell, is an executive sponsor of OutLinkUK
- Three of our staff are on the OutLinkUK Steering Group
- Whilst making up only around 10% of the UK business, Applied Intelligence employees make up around 20% of the OutLinkUK membership, which includes allies across the world
BAE Systems sponsor Pride in Surrey 2019:
In 2019, Applied Intelligence sponsored the inaugural Pride in Surrey on behalf of BAE Systems. Theresa Palmer, our Head of Diversity and Inclusion said in the run up to the event: “BAE Systems is extremely proud to be headline sponsor for the first ever Pride in Surrey. We feel strongly that visible support of such openly inclusive events is key to driving the type of diverse workplace we are striving for."

"We acknowledge that we are a large, global presence but what many people may not know is that the Applied Intelligence division is headquartered right here in Surrey. That makes this particular event even more personal for us as it represents our neighbours and as a local employer we want to make clear to our community that they have a welcoming, supportive business on their doorstep.”
At BAE Systems we are conscious of our role in our customers’ supply chains, where the diversity of our staff contributes to the diversity of customer workplaces. Alongside the LGBTQ+ networks of peer and customer organisations in the private and public sectors, we have formed a Pride in Defence network. This network allows us to collaborate and converge on making the defence sector a great place for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies to work.
