Our HR graduates and undergraduates help ensure we have the right people in the right jobs at the right time. They develop business knowledge, behavioural competence and technical HR skills.

Making sure we have the right people in the right jobs at the right time is crucial to delivering on our customer commitments. As an HR graduate you'll gain a wide range of skills and experience to help ensure our people can continue to carry out amazing work. You'll develop business knowledge, behavioural competence and technical HR skills. For example, you could find yourself managing the relationship between union represented employees and the business, delivering an employee engagement strategy to help attract, select and retain talented individuals to our organisation, or analysing HR information to inform key business decisions.

The spectrum of HR activities is diverse but are there to support our people and add real value to the business.

As a HR Graduate within BAE Systems Head Office, each of your placements will be within a different geographical location across the UK throughout the duration of the scheme. This will ensure you gain a breadth of experience across our many sites, projects and cultures, all of which will contribute to your portfolio of skills and experience. Head Office is home to a wide range of vital departments, from Strategy and Legal, to HR and Business Development. It is an exciting environment, where people at all levels across the business exchange ideas and develop new projects. Roles Available


Our graduate and undergraduate roles open for applications from 1st September each year. These include the Graduate Development Framework (GDF)Applied Intelligence Early CareersIndustrial Placements and Summer Internships.

We ask you that you select and apply to one of our business units and if successful, you will be employed by that area of the business throughout the duration of your scheme.

Entry Requirements


To apply, you’ll need to have a minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree for our graduate scheme or on course for achieving a 2:1 for our undergraduate schemes.

Specific business unit requirements include:-

  •  Head Office: Will consider all degree disciplines.


We’re also interested in your personal qualities and how you approach challenges.  You’ll need to be focused on achieving results, able to build strong relationships, apply critical thinking to problems, have a willingness to develop yourself and others, and be self confident. 

In addition, you need to be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance.

Starting Salary

  •  Graduate: £28,000 per annum
  •  Industrial Placement: £18,000 per annum
  •  Summer Internship: £16,800 (pro-rata) per annum
