The programme offers significant responsibility and exposure, with three 12-month placements to gain extensive experience of financial, management and project accounting. We also support you in obtaining your Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification and help aid the development of your leadership, communication and teamwork attributes.
The FLDP continues with a two-year senior accountancy position, offering the managerial experience and further skills development you will require to move into a leadership role within our dynamic finance arena at the end of the programme.

Your Learning and Development
We encourage and support you to reach your full potential and give you all the tools to succeed, with regular performance and development appraisals, 360 feedback and a senior mentor to provide you with support and guidance. We provide help and support to enable you to gain your Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification.
In your fourth and fifth year, you receive 20 training and development days. These can be used to attend our Professional Development Centre, Leading for Success and Essential Leadership Skills programmes, with the remaining days tailored to your individual needs. These sessions will allow you to build upon the development you received from the multitude of courses attended throughout the first three years on the programme.
After five years you will be a highly skilled member of the finance community and discover BAE Systems’ commitment to your learning and experience is ongoing.

What you'll need
To join us on the FLDP you must have a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor's degree in any subject and 120 UCAS points or equivalent (excluding General Studies).
You will need to show flexibility and resilience and have exceptional practical and analytical skills to thrive on the programme, and take responsibility for your own progression.
Finance is a very hands-on profession that will see you working in demanding industrial environments, so it’s vital that you have the tact, confidence and tenacity to challenge accepted practices and robustly manage cost savings at ground level.

Your online application will involve a number of numerical, verbal and situational strength tests.
If you are successful you will have a video interview, and selected candidates will then be invited to an assessment centre.
