We currently have a variety of opportunities in Systems Requirements Management & Design, Systems Integration, Product Safety and Product Security and are keen to speak to you about how you could grow your career working on our Combat Systems projects. Our sites include Frimley, Filton, Weymouth and Barrow-in-Furness.

We welcome individuals with specialist defence knowledge and also those potentially looking for a career change, or a completely new challenge in this exciting area of engineering.

Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on one of a number of our programmes and projects, helping us to design, develop, integrate, manage and support complex systems and combat sub-systems for in-service and future submarines. You will have a good understanding of the inputs, flow of decisions and dependencies that will impact system design and product delivery.
We have Systems Engineers who have a wide-range of skills and experience across all of these areas and  disciplines, and also those who choose to develop a more detailed level of expertise in a particular domain or technical discipline.

Software Engineer

Our Software Engineers need to have a good understanding of the system context in which the software will operate. They must then use a systematic and disciplined approach to their work in order to develop, integrate and maintain the software used in our highly complex and critical systems for in-service and future submarines, and also the shore-based test and reference facilities that support them. You will work closely with our specialist engineering teams such as product security and safety to ensure that our software delivers the required operational benefit to our Royal Navy.

Product Security

Our Product Security specialists ensure that the systems and software being developed for use in our submarines are secure whilst being able to support the operational activities that they are required to undertake. You will understand the technical implementation of security solutions and the accreditation process required during all stages of the design, development, delivery and through-life update and support. Whilst you work in a specialist field, you will also work closely with our Systems and Software Engineers to understand and interpret the threats, risks and mitigations of cyber security on the design of our complex systems.

Safety & Environmental

Working in the Safety and Environmental discipline, you will help to make sure our products do not cause unintentional harm, including to property and the environment. You will work closely with our product engineering teams to develop an understanding of the systems' context in order to identify potential hazards, determine possible accident sequences, classify the associated risk and advise on the requirements for successful risk mitigation solutions.
