Commercial - Closed
As a Commercial Higher Apprentice you will be involved in the preparation of commercial agreements ranging from standardised template agreements up to individually negotiated multi million pound customer bids. The commercial requirements include negotiating, drafting, supporting and delivering of contracts provide an overarching commercial framework within which BAE Systems can deliver world class capabilities to its customers.
Our Level 4 Finance Higher Apprenticeship scheme aims to develop A-level or equivalent qualified individuals into Chartered Management Accountants with a broad understanding of all aspects of finance and how these fit into the wider business organisation.
You will be responsible for all things ’people’ related; supporting employees throughout their time with the business with anything from changing the way people work, to helping them through difficult personal or professional issues, to working with managers in the business to tackle complex business challenges.
Information Management Systems and Technology - Closed
As an Information Management & Technology Apprentice you will work alongside highly skilled personnel who provide information technology and data solutions.You will support the delivery and management of critical information, whether digital or otherwise, in the (capital) delivery phase of an infrastructure project.
During the Engineering Higher Apprenticeship you will, through a range of placements develop knowledge, skills and behaviours in a range of different engineering disciplines whilst gaining valuable experience in Mechanical and Electrical engineering environments which will culminate in you completing an End Point Assessment.
The work of procurement and supply professionals includes the process of procurement, or buying goods and services; however, these roles can be much broader than just procurement. These roles can extend to a huge range of related commercial activity such as influencing policy, financial analysis, engaging in contract law, and developing strategy to deliver services.
You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of different projects by gathering information about time, cost and quality constraints, identifying and analysing data trends and driving actions to their conclusion.
Supply Chain is an Integral Function responsible for researching, sourcing, buying, storing, maintaining and delivering critical products and services required for build. Whilst ensuring they are delivered to the correct requirements/specification, at the right time, for the right cost and to exacting quality standards.
In the first year, you will undertake your training at the Academy for Skills and Knowledge at Samlesbury Lancashire. You will be trained in both practical and theory-based engineering and in addition, learning the basics in such things as electrical circuits, aircraft fitting, fabrication, flight line awareness, machining, carbon fibre and Computer Aided Design.
During the Engineering Higher Apprenticeship you will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours in a range of different engineering disciplines whilst gaining valuable experience in electrical and electronic manufacturing engineering environments which will culminate in you completing an End Point Assessment with a view of becoming a Test Engineer.
Higher Apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 18 with at least five GCSEs or National 5 + Highers (or equivalent) including Maths and English, as well as a Science subject for engineering or technical roles. Additionally, you’ll require a minimum of two A-levels or a level 3 equivalent qualification.
You'll need to be curious, ready to be challenged, and committed to making the most of opportunities here.
