Australian Suppliers

BAE Systems has a long and successful history of working closely with Australian suppliers, to open up both local and international opportunities. Projects with local companies currently range from Joint Strike Fighter (Vertical Tail Manufacturing) to Unmanned Autonomous Vehicle (UAV) capabilities.

In 2011, we signed a Global Supply Deed (GSC) to assist Australian suppliers with entry into global supply markets, as part of

 a Global Supply Chain Program launched by the Australian Government in 2009.

We are actively facilitating opportunities for Australian suppliers to compete in supply chains where we operate including: 

  • Identifying opportunities for Australian suppliers bids in BAE Systems’ home markets
  • Assisting Australian suppliers to become more competitive in overseas markets through mentoring
  • Providing training on GSC initiatives
  • Holding program management reviews with the Australian Government to assess performance and opportunities



We also have a specialist Global Access Program (GAP) team who are responsible for creating more global supply chain opportunities for Australian firms. 

The GAP team supports development and continuous improvement activities with SMEs, provides advice around regulatory issues and acts as a single point of contact into BAE Systems’ global supply chain.



BAE Systems Approved Suppliers are those who have been assessed under our supplier evaluation and approval process, after successfully bidding and winning business with us. Once a Supplier is added to our Approved Suppliers List, they will participate in biennial reviews to ensure performance is acceptable and the contract is still valid.
