LRASM long-range sensor

BAE Systems’ development of a long-range sensor will advance precision guidance capabilities for missile systems.

Focused on providing U.S. forces with the most advanced capabilities to counter emerging threats, BAE Systems continues to enhance expertise in signal processing and target detection and location.

An example of the company’s current work in this area is Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM), a joint Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Office of Naval Research (ONR) program.  The program’s intent is to develop a next-generation missile capable of autonomously detecting and identifying targets. Functioning as the eyes and the ears of the LRASM missile, BAE Systems’ advanced long-range sensor is designed to enable the attack of targets within a group of enemy ships protected by sophisticated enemy air defense systems.
