The LIMA air and maritime exhibition is a global showcase of capability and an opportunity to maintain and develop existing and new relationships with partners from the armed services from throughout Asia and the wider world.
BAE Systems is the largest supplier to the Malaysian Armed Forces with Hawk aircraft in service with the RMAF and employing over 500 people through its Malaysian operations which include a cyber-engineering centre, in addition to a naval guns joint venture BHIC-Bofors.
BAE Systems has proudly attended LIMA since its inception.  For 2017, we will be taking a substantial 250m2 indoor exhibition space at the Air Show including the Typhoon Full Scale replica aircraft outside the main entrance to the Hall.  Not only will visitors have the chance to sit in one of the most advanced fast jets in the world, but will also be able to fly the aircraft in our Typhoon Cockpit Simulator on the main stand and experience the pilots view through the Striker II® Helmet Mounted Display.
Demonstrating the technology behind our products will be our bestselling APKWS weapons guidance system, the Striker II® helmet mounted display and a number of OASYS Thermal Weapon Sights.
Naval displays will include the 40Mk4 and 57Mk3 naval gun systems currently in-service with the Royal Malaysian Navy, and a scale model of our Offshore Patrol Vessel currently under construction for the Royal Thai Navy and the UK Royal Navy.
Land based weapon systems will be represented by scale models of the M109A5+ Self Propelled Howitzer and the 105mm Light gun.
An interactive demonstration of the solutions we provide to the financial sector and governments to protect their critical infrastructure from our Malaysian Cyber business will also be on show, as well as a celebration of our many Malaysian partnerships over the past 50 years.
