Mark Phillips

Group Communications Director
Mark is Group Communications Director and a member of the BAE Systems plc Executive Committee, responsible for driving global communications strategies across the defence, aerospace and security business.
 
Mark joined BAE Systems in March 2010 leading communications activity for the company's UK defence businesses and driving strategic communications in international markets.  More recently Mark held the position as Director of Communications, Air and Group Business Development, leading communications activities for the Air sector in UK, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Oman. 
 
Mark began his working life in local government in London before joining BAA plc where he held a number of roles culminating in Head of Community and Government Relations at Heathrow Airport. In 2002 Mark joined Royal Dutch Shell plc where he held a number of roles including Head of UK External Affairs and Head of Global Communications for Gas & Power. In 2008 Mark joined Barclays Bank plc as Head of Group Public Affairs.
 
Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
