Apprenticeships in Lancashire

Project Control Foundation Scheme Apprentice - Chloe Chew
Chloe tells us about what she’s getting out of the apprenticeship scheme; how she’s applying what she’s learning to her current role.

Joining the scheme

I joined the scheme after leaving Skipton Girls’ 6th form in North Yorkshire, where I had taken three ‘A’ levels in Applied Business, Engineering and English Language.

After leaving school I felt ready to start my career as well as wanting to continue my studies onto degree level, which the scheme has enabled me to do.

Studying compliments practical work

The project management degree compliments my practical work within my placement and shows me the theory behind the techniques used within the company. I am currently working within the Air and Ground training capability team, monitoring and controlling contracts for Eurofighter Typhoon training devices.

Looking to the future

In the future I would like to work in a project management role on the F-35 project and take the opportunity that BAE Systems offers to travel to different places in the world which I may not otherwise visit.
