This page provides you with key information and support to help you and your teams deliver into the Air Sector’s Defence Logistics Centre (DLC).
The Defence Logistics Centre on Samlesbury Enterprise Zone has been operating since 1st January 2017.
All aircraft component deliveries (with the exception of the Saudi Tornado contract which goes to Wincanton at Walker Park, Blackburn), should be made to:

Wincanton - Defence Logistics Centre
1 Petter Court
Samlesbury Enterprise Zone
Mellor Brook, Blackburn

Goods In for vehicle receipt operates between the hours of 7.30am until 4.30pm Monday to Friday. There are no standard weekend deliveries.

What does the Supplier need to do?

  • Ensure all goods dispatched against different Purchase Orders are packed in separate bags/boxes as they will be processed individually.
  • Ensure that any special handling instructions are clearly marked on the outside of the package, e.g. “Hazardous”, “Cadmium content”
  • Ensure all paperwork has been checked for accuracy and topicality in line with quality approval conditions and compliance to Export Control regulations

Impact of ERP Transformation on Supplier Deliveries

Air is migrating all of its existing purchasing systems into one new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The move is highly complex and our suppliers’ support is key to success.
The move will take place through a number of Deployments over the next 6-9 months and further details will be issued at the appropriate times. Deployment 1 will Go Live on Monday 28th January 2019 and in the period immediately before this it will be necessary to suspend deliveries to our DLC to facilitate the migration of data:
  • Eurofighter Spec equipment (ordered on EMSPOM), should continue to be delivered as normal and in line with agreed delivery dates
  • For all other aircraft production orders (ordered on BaaN IV), you will be asked to pull forward deliveries to no later than 16:00 on Friday 7th December 2018.
  • Deliveries not affected by these migration activities (including Hawk and Typhoon In-Service orders) should continue as usual but please note, the Defence Logistics Centre will be closed from Friday 21st December 2018 to Wednesday 2nd January 2019.
If you have any questions about this, including clarification on which deliveries can continue, please contact your usual Procurement Point of Contact.
