Job Purpose

 
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Naval Forces ships and train RSNF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their ships and equipment.
 
The post holder will be responsible for delivering Naval Specialist Training (NST) at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS), located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dammam. Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for training the Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF) student's in the operation of communications and IT equipment, for their Information Systems Technicians. Preparing them for their sea role in; monitoring, managing, configuring, testing and maintain ship borne IT systems and infrastructure. You will teach them to learn about how to manage information using communications and network information systems, safety procedures and be able to receive communications that are crucial to the day-today operation of the ship.
         

Job Accountabilities

 
The post holder is responsible for:
  • Delivering Naval Specialty Training curriculum (including relevant elements of Basic Skills Training), and, in particular, Information System Technician specific elements.
  • Supporting invigilation activities for assessments.
  • Supporting remedial training activities.
  • Writing assessment materials.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of courseware materials and media.
  • Writing student reports as required, to meet customer requirements.
  • The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by their line manager, which aligns with company business.
  • The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.

  • Complete BAE SDT mandatory training.
 

Recruitment Specification

 
Essential
The post holder must:
  • Have a minimum of IELTS 5.0 for non-native English language speakers.
  • Be a graduate of an advanced military trade school or an industry equivalent.
  • Have proven experience performing the role of Information System Technician.
  • Hold a City & Guilds (ICT Systems and principles) qualification or equivalent.
Desirable
The post holder should:
  • Have recent instructional experience.
  • Have successfully completed an approved / accredited Instructional Techniques course.
