BAE Systems Creates More Than 3,000 Local Manufacturing Job Opportunities
The booth was set up at the Armed Forces Exhibition for Diversification of Local Manufacturing (AFED) in which the company is participating as a Diamond Sponsor. The event was held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz.

Khalid Al-Otaibi, Vice President of Manufacturing, underlined the importance of the exhibition and the company's support in participating in the event, which is a key step towards the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. 

"Our participation in the exhibition showcases our commitment in transferring skills and technology to local companies, and highlights the company's efforts and achievements in supporting local manufacturing. Since BAE Systems first arrived in the Kingdom, the company has strived to establish strong ties of collaboration with the local manufacturing community. We maintain several partnerships with a number of Saudi manufacturing companies that have resulted in manufacturing more than 3,000 pieces of equipment locally. Our aim is to double this number over the coming few years," said Khalid.

For his part, Yasser Al-Twijari, Director of Corporate Communication at BAE Systems said, "Since its first days in the Kingdom, BAE Systems has made it a top priority to remain committed towards supporting the Kingdom's national objectives. To that end, the Company has been supporting the local manufacturing sector and contributing to the creation of secure job opportunities for Saudi citizens. To deliver on our commitments, we have signed several agreements and invested in a number of local companies with the aim of building and developing indigenous capabilities across a number of sectors, such as the manufacturing and repair of advanced systems."
