Simon enables financial institutions to overcome their cyber challenges, strengthen their defences, and prepare for how they will deal with cyber-attacks. He also assists organisations in dealing with cyber incidents and managing the resulting impact.
In addition to his work leading BAE Systems cyber security projects in the financial services industry, Simon is a passionate evangelist for The Intelligence Network – a collaborative cross-industry initiative designed to safeguard society in the digital age.  Here, Simon is specifically focused on tacking cyber fraud, and is looking at new ways to reduce opportunities for social engineering leading to cyber fraud.
“Cyber fraud impacts a wide spectrum of society from individual consumers to businesses and financial services firms, so it’s important that the industry takes steps to prevent it. If we can help improve cyber and operational controls to better prevent cyber-attacks and fraud, society as a whole will benefit. The cyber threat groups targeting organisations don’t differentiate between the cyber and fraud parts of their attacks, so industry needs to start acting in the same way too."
