Equal Opportunity Act Exception
BAE Systems Australia Limited lodged an Application to renew its exemptions under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic.).
This is to enable the company to continue to gather certain information to determine which employees and contingent workers are permitted to access export controlled material.
The below notice relates to that Application:
BAE Systems Australia Limited (the applicant) has applied to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) for exemption from the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 to allow it to discriminate on the basis of race in specified circumstances. Details of the application are available from the Tribunal.
The Tribunal will hear the Application at 10.00 am on 7 August 2017 at 55 King Street, Melbourne, Victoria.
If you want to make a submission to the Tribunal either for or against the Application you must send it in writing addressed to Human Rights List VCAT 223 William Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. Please quote reference H91/2017.
The closing date for submission is 24 July 2017.
BAE Systems Australia now has exemptions of this nature for Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Western Australia.
