Andrew is the Operations Support Director
Andrew is a management board member of BAE Systems Australia, with domestic and international experience spanning business leadership roles, strategy, business development and commercial across all domains in the Defence sector.
 
With an honors degree in Mechanical Engineering and postgraduate qualifications in marketing and management, he has previously worked in the mining industry in various roles ranging from engineering to marketing.
 
Andrew’s current role focuses on operational effectiveness within the business and supply chain, and ensures the right support and infrastructure is in place to allow our projects to succeed. His responsibilities span Commercial & Procurement (C&P), Project Management, IM&T and Facilities.
 
Previously, Andrew led the F-35 Program for the Australian business, working with customers and industry to grow the Australian contribution in advanced manufacturing and establish sustainment capability for F-35 in Australia to support the regional fleet. From 2011 to 2014 he was the General Manager of the Fast Jet Support Business, delivering outcomes based support services on Hawk 127, FA-18 Hornet and F-35 for the Royal Australian Airforce.
 
In 2001 Andrew joined BAE Systems as Business Manager - Lead In Fighter, and following three years working in the project he was seconded to the United Kindgom working with international customers operating Hawk aircraft. He returned to Australia as Head of Commercial & Procurement for Aerospace in 2007 with responsibilities across sustainment and development contracts in fast jet sustainment, rotary wing sustainment and training contracts with the ADF. Following the acquisition of Tenix Defence by BAE Systems in 2009 he undertook a Commercial role in the Maritime division based at Melbourne with involvement in integrating the acquired business into BAE Systems and commercial management of programs such as AWD, LHD and ANZAC class support.
 
His passions are flying vintage aircraft, he owns a 1928 Tiger Moth which he flies at any opportunity in the Hunter Valley. He also enjoys snow skiing, and is a lover of the water as a keen fisherman and sailor.
