Shelley is the Chief People Officer
Shelley is a highly effective senior Human Resources leader with more than 15 years experience in the UK, US and Australia. Her passion is improving performance and driving growth through people. She uses her inherent understanding of people and organisations to engage with customers and employees, develop and deliver key business strategies, and identify growth opportunities.
Shelley thrives on challenges and setting new goals and has proven success in improving business performance through the enhancement of leadership capability, and organisation design and culture. Her adaptable style enables her to confidently support and advise people from all backgrounds and at all levels.

Shelley has been with BAE Systems for 20 years. She joined British Aerospace in 1994 as a Commercial Trainee, before transitioning into the Communications and Media Relations function. Having held a number of communication roles across the company, Shelley was appointed Employee Communications Manager within the Customer Solutions and Support Group (CS&S), based at Warton UK. In this role, she had responsibility for all aspects of communications supporting the Military Air Solutions & Support Group.
In 2003, Shelley undertook a development secondment in Washington DC, where she held the role of Marketing & Government Relations Manager within the Marketing and Legislative Affairs Group.
The following year she was appointed Communications and Corporate Affairs Manager for BAE Systems Australia, with responsibility for all internal and external communications, as well as events and exhibitions.
Shelley transitioned to the Human Resources function in 2006, when she became Organisation Development Manager for BAE Systems Australia. She played a critical role leading the People & Culture aspects for the Tenix acquisition and integration. This included driving the new organisation design and senior leadership appointments, and leading the cultural integration and communication activities.
In 2008, Shelley was appointed Head of HR Operations, based in Adelaide. She assumed responsibility for Organisation Design and Development, Learning & Development, Talent Management, and Resourcing & Recruitment.
In 2013, she was appointed Head of HR for the Land & Integrated Systems Business Unit. As a member of the L&IS Lead Team she was responsible for developing and implementing HR and SHE strategies. In this role, Shelley led two significant organisation design activities that delivered a $10M per annum cost saving.
Shelley is married to Ben and has two children, Isabel and Jack She enjoys running, travelling and writing.
