Our most notable projects in Brazil include a contract to deliver upgraded M109A5+ self-propelled howitzers to the Brazilian Army, an upgrade to the Army’s M113 armored personnel carriers fleet, and we’re providing modernized Assault Amphibious Vehicles (AAVs) to the Brazilian Marine Corps. We also partner with the military and local businesses to promote industrial cooperation, leading to job creation, workforce training, enhanced local supply chains, and to the transfer of new technologies.
In support of Brazilian Army personnel we train service members how to upgrade the M113s at Curitiba Army Maintenance Park, giving them the skills to help secure good paying jobs once they leave military service.
We have worked with Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force on the supply of specific avionics for the new KC-390 military transport aircraft, have delivered three Ocean Patrol Vessels (OPVs) along with crew training to the Brazilian Navy, and are a select supplier for radar and naval guns.
We provide some of the world’s most advanced, technology-led defense aerospace and security solutions. Working with customers and local partners, we develop, engineer, manufacture and support products and systems to deliver military capability, protect national security and people, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure.
From 2-5 April we’re featuring a range of innovative and technologically advanced products at LAAD Defence & Security exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Located in hall 3, stand number J.05.

We have had a presence in Brazil for a number of years. BAE Systems has an office in Brasilia and you can track our involvement back to the Niterói Class frigates supplied to the Brazilian Navy in the 1970s by our legacy business VT Shipbuilding and even before.
