BAE Systems’ technology enables COVID-19 response efforts

From New Jersey’s first responders to the remote workforce at the federal level, our technology and expertise are contributing to the fight against COVID-19.

When it comes to the front lines of the crisis, first responders, officials, and other healthcare heroes working in the same region need a common operating picture to function as efficiently as possible. In New Jersey, organizations including the State Police, Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, and Offices of Emergency Management are better able to coordinate their COVID-19 testing efforts thanks to BAE Systems’ Geospatial eXploitation Products™ GXP OpsView® software, in combination with Collaborative Response Graphics® from Critical Response Group, Inc.

The shared picture bridges the information gap between responding organizations, eases on-boarding for new personnel, and increases the operational throughput of each testing site.

GXP OpsView also enables state organizations to view all of New Jersey’s COVID-19 response sites in a single image. Its smart mapping techniques speed up the deployment of field hospitals, supply staging areas, and interim testing sites. Through this collaboration tool, first responders and medical professionals can orient more rapidly to their new location and execute their duties using common information – allowing for a more effective and efficient response. In addition, smart maps and location-sharing technology improve logistics and operations, accelerating transport of critical supplies like personal protective equipment and testing kits to those who need it most.

GXP OpsView recently received SAFETY Act Designation from the Department of Homeland Security following a comprehensive review of data on effectiveness, quality assurance, and product sustainment plans.

At the national level, in support of the intelligence community, BAE Systems is rapidly acquiring and implementing secure software tools that meet mission-critical requirements. Whether the strategy calls for advanced analytics capabilities or additional personnel training, our products enable this workforce to continue meeting its objectives, even from home. We also are collecting and processing unclassified Open Source Intelligence data to track trends and hot spots, using robotic process automation tools, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

During these uncertain times, many innovative companies are rising to the challenge of applying their specific areas of expertise to help fight this pandemic. We are deeply grateful for the contributions and heroism of those on the front lines as we face these unprecedented circumstances together.
