Modernizing Holston: Enhancing Safety, Capacity, and Sustainability
BAE Systems has been working with the Army on continuous modernization projects at HSAAP
We are chemists and rocket scientists advancing our technologies to the next level in our endless mission to protect those who protect us. The production of energetics and propellants begins and ends in the Appalachian Valley. The demand for propellants and explosives is on the rise and there is no better team to meet that demand than OSI.
We are forever ready to innovate.
Many of our employees can trace their lineage to when these plants first opened in 1941, during World War II. OSI bears a legacy of generations that walk through the doors to serve their nation. Our workforce carries immense pride in doing the important work that they do for America on American soil.
We are forever ready to defend democracy.
Over the last decade, these sites have seen improvements, including a billion dollar investment in RDX capability expansion at Holston and tens of millions of dollars in investment for a new nitrocellulose facility at Radford. BAE Systems itself has invested more than $100 million at both sites combined.
We are modernizing in parallel with production. We know long-range capability and smart munitions are the future… and we are always ready to deliver.
We are forever ready to face tomorrow’s biggest challenges.
