Typhoon has safeguarded our skies for over two decades and surpassed one million flying hours. It continues to adapt and evolve to meet the wide variety of threats posed by new and emerging technologies. Within a matter of months, we worked with the RAF to equip Typhoon aircraft with our APKWS targeting system to enable pilots to take down enemy drones and other threats. Our panel will talk about how we rapidly integrated this capability and the range of other upgrades in development for the fighter jet, from crewed-uncrewed teaming to enhanced radar.

Eurofighter Typhoon

At the forefront of combat air superiority

Typhoon will continue in operation with air forces across Europe and the Middle East well into the 2060s due to continuous investment by Eurofighter partners ensuring the aircraft remains at the forefront of combat air superiority. Typhoon is also powering economic value and growing sovereign industrial capability, securing more than 20,000 jobs and contributing £1.4bn to the UK economy in export sales, which has already returned more than double the UK's £12 billion investment back to the economy.

We are continually investing in Typhoon to maintain its cutting edge military capability, ensuring it remains the backbone of combat air, whilst developing and deploying technologies central to the next generation of the UK’s combat air capability – Tempest.

Uncrewed teaming

The battlespace of the future will see crewed and uncrewed aircraft flying as part of a digitally-connected force. We are using our expertise to accelerate and prove possibilities for future combined fleets.

Powering the UK economy

Sovereign skills and capability

The Eurofighter Typhoon is one of the most successful UK defence programmes, bringing export sales worth double the £12 billion invested by the UK Government, with the potential for more to come.
