2014 is an exciting time as we look to recruit hundreds more new employees right across our Submarines business. Come and join our team.
Together we achieve
BAE Systems Maritime-Submarines is one of the only facilities in the world that is capable of designing, building and testing nuclear powered submarines.
Employing around 6,000 highly skilled people, our main site in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria has been designing and building complex submarines for more than a century. Our submarine programme has been described as more complex than the space shuttle – and certainly provides leading engineers with one of the largest engineering challenges in the world today.
Currently, we are delivering seven Astute class submarines for the UK Royal Navy. We are also one of three main industrial partners working to design the Royal Navy’s next generation of submarines - the replacement for the Vanguard class. The first of the new class is due to be delivered in 2028 and will provide the nation’s nuclear deterrent into the 2060s.
To deliver these complex products to the Royal Navy, it is essential we have the right people with the right skills so we believe in developing exciting career paths for our people – from apprentices and graduates through to professional engineers.
Situated on the edge of the Lake District, Maritime-Submarines attracts employees from across the country who are looking for their next challenge and who want to establish a career for life.
