Our Project Management graduates and undergraduates ensure that we deliver on customer commitments at the right time, at the right cost and to the best possible quality.

Project Management is about taking real responsibility and accountability for ensuring that we deliver on our customer commitments at the right time, at the right cost and to the right quality. Fundamental to all our businesses, you could find yourself undertaking a wide variety of tasks for example controlling budgets and expenditure, covering the governance of change within projects, resourcing, fulfilling contractual requirements and interfacing with our customers. You'll also review performance, analyse risks and take decisions to optimise project success. The list is extensive, but all enable you to gain a breadth of skills and business experience to be a success in this field.

Roles Available

 
Our graduate and undergraduate roles open for applications from 1st September each year. These include the Graduate Development Framework (GDF)Applied Intelligence Early CareersIndustrial Placements and Summer Internships.
 
We ask you that you select and apply to one of our business units and if successful, you will be employed by that area of the business throughout the duration of your scheme.

Entry Requirements

 

To apply, you’ll need to have a minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject for our graduate scheme or on course for achieving a 2:1 for our undergraduate schemes.

Specific business unit requirements include:-

  • Head Office: Business, Engineering, IT, Law or a Science degree discipline preferred.
  • Military Air & Information: Numerate, technical and/ or analytical degree disciplines preferred.
  • Submarines: Business and STEM degree disciplines preferred.
  • Maritime Services: Will consider all degree disciplines.
  • Naval Ships: Will consider all degree disciplines.
  • Applied Intelligence: Will consider all degree disciplines.

 

In addition, you need to be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance.

In terms of personal qualities, you’ll also need to have an analytical mind and a highly methodical approach your work. A confident communicator, you’ll also know how to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and have the drive and determination to see task through to completion. 

 

Learning and Development

You’ll have the opportunity to learn from colleagues who are experts in their field, and gain insights that can only come from real world experience. As well as taking on roles that offer a real hands-on responsibility, on the GDF this will be complemented by a comprehensive Project Management training programme to allow you to obtain formal professional qualifications through the Association for Project Managers.

Starting Salary

 
  •  Graduate: £28,000 per annum
  •  Industrial Placement: £18,000 per annum
  •  Summer Internship: £16,800 (pro-rata) per annum
 
 
Closing dates: The Graduate Development Framework will close on 30th November 2017 and Applied Intelligence Early Careers operate a first-come, first-served policy – early application advised across all vacancies. Only in exceptional circumstances will roles be available beyond these dates.
