Aircraft Maintenance
As an Aircraft Maintenance & Support graduate or undergraduate, you will be part of a team working to ensure the continuing airworthiness of our customers' aircraft. This could include working with customers to deliver operational excellence, working with the business to ensure we have the right people, tools and skills in the right places at the right time to deliver customer excellence.
BAE Systems Military Air & Information (MAI) is already recognised as an innovative and world class aircraft design, development and manufacturing organisation. It is now developing its portfolio to include through life support services to our customers' availability of their aircraft, ensuring safety and continual improvement is at the heart of everything we deliver. At the centre of this strategy is the Aircraft Maintenance & Support (AM&S) Function.
 
AM&S will deliver aircraft services, safely, efficiently and effectively utilising recognised best practice aligned to the emerging regulatory framework.
 
Graduates joining MAI AM&S Function will be offered a number of challenging placements covering a range of business critical activities, operational delivery and regulatory environments.
 
You will be offered opportunities to work on our customer air bases, learning how our customers' and AM&S operate to ensure aircraft availability to deliver military effect. You will also work within the regulation team to understand how we manage our Quality System to ensure Continuing Airworthiness of aircraft (Part M), maintain aircraft (Part 145) and provide training and licencing for maintenance personnel (Part 66 and 147).
 
Finally you will have the opportunity to work within Supply Chain, Fleet Planning, Resource Capability and much more.
 
 

Roles Available

 
Our graduate and undergraduate roles open for applications from 1st September each year. These include the Graduate Development Framework (GDF)Applied Intelligence Early CareersIndustrial Placements and Summer Internships.
 
We ask you that you select and apply to one of our business units and if successful, you will be employed by that area of the business throughout the duration of your scheme.

Entry Requirements

 

To apply, you’ll need to have a minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject for our graduate scheme or on course for achieving a 2:1 for our undergraduate schemes.

Specific business unit requirements include:-

  •  Military Air & Information: Engineering, Numerical, Scientific, Technical or Business Management degree discipline preferred. We are also interested in receiving applications from those with non-technical degrees who are interested in working in a business focused role.

 

In addition, you need to be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance.

Qualifications aside, you’ll also need an analytical mind, a keen eye for detail and a highly methodical approach to work. As a strong communicator, you will have the opportunity to collaborate effectively with both internal and external customers.

Closing dates: Industrial Placements / Summer Internships will close on 31st October 2017; the Graduate Development Framework will close on 30th November 2017 and Applied Intelligence Early Careers operate a first-come, first-served policy – early application advised across all vacancies. Only in exceptional circumstances will roles be available beyond these dates.
