About Us

Submarines is contracted to work on some of the biggest and most ambitious engineering projects in the world. You could join more than 7,000 people across several UK sites, as part of a team that’s proud to have designed and built every submarine currently in service with the UK Royal Navy.

As the prime contractor for the UK Royal Navy’s Astute Class nuclear submarine programme, we’re responsible for developing seven submarines packed full of cutting-edge, state-of-the-art technology. You could contribute to the navy’s largest and most powerful fleet of submarines yet.

We’re working together with our partners to design the next submarine platform to carry the UK’s nuclear deterrent – it’s known as the Successor programme. Do you have the skills to turn the concept into reality?

In short, if you have both potential and dedication, you could soon be helping us deliver some of the world’s most innovative engineering technologies.

All roles within are Maritime - Submarines are restricted to British citizens who do not hold dual nationality.  Unfortunately, if you do not meet this criteria it will therefore not be possible to take any application any further.  This does not, however, exclude you from working for other parts of the BAE Systems organisation.

It’s amazing working for a company that builds world leading products like submarines. I never thought in a million years that I would get the chance to go on an actual nuclear submarine and be discussing the design, build and launch of it as part of my job.
