John Suttle Appointed Senior Vice President of International Business Development for BAE Systems, Inc.
BAE Systems, Inc. has named John Suttle senior vice president of International Business Development, a newly created position, effective today.

In his new role, Suttle will work to further BAE Systems’ success in international pursuits. He will be responsible for all core international business development processes, ensuring proper skills training, creating integrated country strategies, developing international partners and managing offset commitments. Additionally, this role will create a more efficient and responsive marketing activity by eliminating duplicative positions across the enterprise and creating common processes.

“The creation of the International Business Development role is consistent with the company’s strategy to emphasize exports as the U.S. defense market declines,” said Linda P. Hudson, president and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc. “John has a broad understanding of our markets and customers and will be a significant asset in shaping and delivering our international strategy.”

Previously, Suttle was the senior vice president of Communications at BAE Systems, Inc., where he led communications for the company’s U.S.-based businesses, and prior to that he served as the vice president of Communications for the company’s Land & Armaments sector. Before joining BAE Systems, Suttle was senior director of Communications for General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products.

Suttle is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, having served in various public affairs roles and as an Army aviator. He spent more than six years overseas, including serving in Germany, Bosnia, and Iraq. He is a graduate of the Army's Training with Industry Fellowship Program and the Command and General Staff College. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in mass communications and public relations from Lamar University and a Master of Arts in journalism and public relations from Marshall University.

Suttle serves as a board member of the Carolinas Historic Aviation Commission and Assisting Single Parents in Realizing Higher Education. He also serves on the USO Board of Governors.

Hudson will act as the senior vice president of Communications at BAE Systems, Inc. until a successor is named.
