London, United Kingdom - Following the settlement reached with the United States Department of Justice, announced on 5th February 2010, the Company has appointed Mr David Gold as an independent corporate monitor for a period of up to three years.

Mr Gold will review and evaluate certain of the Company's existing or new reporting policies and procedures and submit periodic reports to the Company's Board and the Justice Department. Mr Gold will serve as an ex-officio member of the External Review Panel established by the Company in 2007 and will be supported by members of the Company's legal, compliance and internal audit staff.

Mr Gold is a senior litigation partner at Herbert Smith LLP, a leading international law firm with its main office in London. Mr Gold became a partner in 1983 and was head of the litigation division from 2003 until 2005 when he was elected senior partner, a position he held until May 2010.
