Advanced Countermeasures Dispenser System (ACDS) Pod

Advanced Countermeasures Dispenser System (ACDS) Pod
The Advanced Countermeasures Dispensing System (ACDS) is an airborne, computer-controlled, self-defense system with enhanced capabilities for chaff, flare, and advanced decoy dispensing.

The Advanced Countermeasures Dispensing System (ACDS) Pod contains a self-defense system with enhanced capabilities for chaff, flares, and advanced decoys. The Pod functions as an integral part of an electronic warfare suite or as a stand-alone system in which the crew selects and initiates prestored dispense programs.

The ACDS Pod executes the optimum dispense program upon receiving, via digital data link, the electronic warfare controller and/or aircraft avionics command. Program execution in the semiautomatic mode requires operator consent; in the automatic mode, the selected optimum program is executed immediately.

The ACDS, installed inside the Pod, is currently in production and fielded on numerous multinational aircraft. The ACDS provides different interfaces for use with EW suites, aircraft avionics, control systems, and smart dispensers of any type.

Compatible with night vision goggles, the Mini Control and Display Unit (MCDU) provides a visual display of the dispenser's direction toward a target threat detected by the EW suite and generates an audio warning. Direction of dispensers is easily adjusted on the ground. The flexible, simple-to-use BAE Systems Threat Matrix Generator software allows the customer to modify dispensing programs according to operational needs. Notebook-based, user-friendly Memory Loader/Verifier software allows fast, easy downloading of the threat matrix to the ACDS during organizational-level maintenance.

A smart breech plate adapter tester and O-level ground test equipment provide the customer a wide range of testing capabilities, including a stray voltage test.
