Spotlight on STEM

What inspires us? Our employees and the work they do for BAE Systems and their communities
There has been a growing concern in the U.S. around the decrease in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) graduates. As a defense, aerospace, and security company, this concern hits close to home as technology and engineering are the lifeblood of our industry. Along with facing a declining number of U.S. youth pursuing STEM-related careers, a significant proportion of our industry’s engineers are approaching retirement age.

Impacted by the challenges of filling the STEM gap, our employees are investing their time to further STEM education by engaging and supporting both company-sponsored programs and outside organizations that focus on advancing engineering and technology.

Through our #IamInspiredBy series, we are highlighting our employees who invest in our country’s future by empowering younger generations to succeed in STEM fields.

Over the next few weeks, you will meet some of our employees and find out why they are moved by STEM education and what inspires them to excel in both their careers and communities.
