Newspaper Names BAE Systems Among Top Charitable Givers in D.C. Area

Diane Parisi accepts the 2012 Corporate Philanthropy award on behalf of BAE Systems, Inc.
The Washington Business Journal today named BAE Systems, Inc. one of the top corporate philanthropists in the Washington, D.C., area.

The company ranks 10th in 2011 charitable giving in the 14th annual Corporate Philanthropy Awards, making its first-ever appearance in the top 10.

The company made $3.4 million in contributions to D.C.-area charitable organizations in 2011. That’s more than $600 for each employee in the metro area.

"The men and women of our armed forces have given so much in service to our nation, and BAE Systems employees are deeply committed to supporting them and their families, at home and abroad," Diane Parisi, the company’s vice president of Community Investment, said in accepting the award.
