Technician apprentices take on the world

Technician apprentices take on the world
Technician apprentices Dan Rushton, Andy Pye and Pavandeep Bhogal recently visited Las Vegas as part of their training for the World Skills UK Squad.

The team, along with Andrew Beel and Andy Craig from Motherwell College will represent the UK at the World Skills Computer Aided Design competition in Leipzeg, Germany, next July.

The main objective of this trip was to gain more knowledge and experience on the software ‘Autodesk inventor’. This is the software that the UK squad use in all their competitions for World Skills. Whilst in Las Vegas the team also gained professional certification of the software meaning they are now part of a select few users globally that are qualified at this level.

On returning to the UK Dan said: “All in all the whole experience was extremely beneficial to us as we learned a lot and gained valuable experience that would not have been available to us in this country.
