High achiever

Chris Charlton, Project MAangement Top Scorer
Chris Charlton, a Typhoon Project Manager from our Samlesbury site, has every reason to feel proud.

For Chris, a 2011 Project Management Graduate has achieved the highest mark within our military air and information business, the Association of Project Management APMP exam –an amazing 92%.

Employees from across this business have been sitting the examination since the introduction of the Project Management Developing You (PMDY) framework in 2003. After sitting the PMDY modules individuals are encouraged and have the opportunity to sit the Association for Project Management APMP examination. By the end of 2012 the number of people who have passed this exam has exceeded 1000, with our pass rate being significantly higher than the national average for this qualification. Approximately 75% of these individuals still remain within the air and information business, demonstrating the value of the investment into our people’s development.

Ken Groves, Project Management Director said: "I am very proud of our project management community and the efforts they make, as individuals, to improve their knowledge and professionalism. All who take the APMP do so voluntarily, but in doing so enhance the reputation of MAI and BAE Systems and consolidate our Customers' view that we are a professional project management organisation equipped to deliver requirements.

My congratulations also go to Chris on scoring an amazing 92% in the examination. Well done.”
