BAE Systems Saudi Arabia has selected 24 high potential Saudi employees to join its Mustakbal Management Development Programme during 2012.
The Mustakbal Management Development Programme began in 2002 to help create a stronger Saudi management cadre. Since its inception, the content of the course has been refined and enhanced to ensure it delivers the appropriate skills, at the right time, during the professional development of the staff. The selected employees will be able to complete the course in just nine months and this will run in parallel with their normal day-to-day activities.
Alan Whiteside, the Programme Head for Mustakbal explained that the course will give the selected employees the scope to implement academic theory into current business challenges they are experiencing in their day jobs. “The Mustakbal group will also be able to attend networking and conferencing events, and have the support of their peers through mentoring and coaching. Upon completion of the programme they should also have gained internationally recognised qualifications.
“This development programme is just one aspect of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia’s wider Saudisation policies. Today, around 3,000 Saudi nationals are directly employed by the company, representing close to 60 per cent of the Company’s in Kingdom workforce. Thousands more are employed in the company’s local industrial partners and supply chain. As a result, in 2011 BAE Systems Saudi Arabia received the ‘excellent’ company performance rating from the Saudi Ministry of Labour for Saudisation and also gained a Bronze Prince Naif Saudisation Award.”
The course is being delivered in partnership with the local economic offset company Saudi Development and Training.
