Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Misha’al Bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah, BAE Systems Saudi Arabia participated in the second Saudi Corporate Social Responsibility Forum for Companies, which was held at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Jeddah.
The forum was organised by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and several prominent businessmen, officials and economists took part in the two-day event.
BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is keen to support social responsibility activities in the local communities in which it operates as part of its role as a responsible employer.
Dr. Abdulatif Al-Shaikh, Head of the Office of the Chief Executive, BAE Systems Saudi Arabia presented at the Forum, reflecting that the Company's participation comes from its social responsibility towards the business community and its belief in the importance of contributing to the economy and social development in the markets where it operates.
He added: “BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is keen to support activities of importance to the community, as well as supporting national initiatives that align to social responsibility programmes in a way that enhances the role of such social responsibility programmes so they are considered fundamental to the business not seen as just ‘charity’ activities.”
“Our aim is to continually develop our social responsibility approach so that BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seen as a leader in introducing innovative solutions for social development at a national level, while encouraging local suppliers to commit to high levels of quality and a responsible approach to environmental management” he added.
The Company’s participation is linked to its involvement with the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and its involvement with the Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index (SARCI), which was launched at the Global Competitiveness Forum (GCF) in Riyadh earlier this year.
