The Company will be joined at the showcase by its LAND 400 international teaming partners, BAE Systems Hägglunds (Sweden) and Patria Land Systems (Finland), together with Australian supply chain partner, SAAB Australia, demonstrating a strong commitment by all partners to Australian Industry Capability.
The showcase will visit 11 cities across all states and territories. The aim is to give Australian SMEs direct access to pitch their organisation’s capabilities to the Prime Contractors who will build the LAND 400 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles.
BAE Systems will use the showcase to further expand its Australian supply chain for LAND 400 contracts. The BAE Systems Australia delegation is looking forward to the capability pitches from Australian SMEs interested in securing work on LAND 400, as well as international opportunities within the three partner companies’ global supply chains.
BAE Systems Australia Chief Executive Glynn Phillips said: “BAE Systems has been developing and testing the local SME supplier base for LAND 400 for over three years. We have already issued purchase orders to Australian companies for our Australian-built solution. By touring the country with SAAB, and our teaming partners from Finland and Sweden, we will be able to further maximise the exposure for Australian SMEs to multiple large global supply chains.
“LAND 400 will provide many opportunities for Australian industry, building on the approach the Company has taken to enabling Australian SMEs to participate in Defence supply chains over the past 60 years.”
