In today’s competitive market space, delivering a great product is now only the beginning of delivering on customers’ expectations and the development of long term value relationships. Delivering focused customer service and support is now a vital business differentiator in today’s ultra-competitive global markets. The ATC offers expertise addressing issues of maintenance, upgrade and through-life support for complex products and systems across military, aerospace and commercial sectors.
Our through-life support services consider all aspects that potentially affect the mature product or system, from environmental and operational factors, to issues of obsolescence and supply chain management. When problems occur, they need to be addressed and solutions found – fast. To deliver rapid response answers to engineering problems, we have developed a special consultancy based service – ‘TechniCall’. This service provides immediate access to the expertise, knowledge and experience of the technologists and scientists at the ATC who are able to investigate, analyse, and provide solutions to design, product or systems problems. The knowledge network can also reach out to engage additional experts across the global BAE Systems science and engineering community.
When failures happen, it is important to understand why it occurred, learn from the experience and instigate mitigating actions to prevent re-occurrence. Our Product Assurance Response Centre (PARC) provides a forensic analysis service with facilities including Real-time X-radiography, thermal imaging, scanning electron microscopy, chemical analysis and material testing. The developed knowledge database of recorded problems and delivered solutions ensures a rapid identification of current issues and a prognostic service able to identify and eliminate potential problem areas before failure occurs, saving time, cost and reputation.
Calling on many years of knowledge and experience acquired from the research and development of some of the worlds most sophisticated and capable radar and communications systems, our specialist repair and refurbishment facility breathes newlife into in-service systems.
Improvements and enhancements to operational performance can be made for antennas, test hoods, radar components and sensor systems.
The pace of technology development will inevitably mean component items within systems are made obsolete long before the end of service date of the overall product. Our obsolescence management service provides a vital lifeline in ensuring the continued operation and longevity of our customers’ products. Operating both proactively and reactively,we provide guidance on upcoming changes in supply conditions in addition to advising, recommending and sourcing replacements for materials, products and technologies that are no-longer available.
Business focus on the supply chain extends beyond the obsolescence management issue. Our supplier competency evaluation service assesses the capability and capacity of suppliers. Successfully deployed within BAE Systems to identify and introduce new organisations to the company's supply chain, the evaluation service is available to military and commercial organisations to deliver improved confidence in the selection and abilities of future suppliers. Suppliers’ technologies and services are verified against the demands and requirements of the application such that compliance against environmental, design and certification standards is ensured.
