The ATC has wide ranging capability in the surface treatment of materials using lasers.
Surface treatment applications include corrosion protection, paint stripping, cleaning of oils and grease, stealthy surfaces, aerodynamic surfaces and preparation for bonding (metals and composites).
A large amount of process data has been accumulated on the effects of varying the wavelength, pulse duration and exposure levels of the lasers on a wide range of materials.
