BAE Systems is participating in several Tank Automotive Command (TACOM) and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) programs to demonstrate the automotive and operational advantages of alternative power supplies for combat systems.
BAE Systems is developing integrated solutions for power generation, energy storage, sprocket torque production and software programmable power distribution.
BAE Systems is also working with the National Automotive Center to integrate hybrid electric technology for increased performance, greater fuel economy, enhanced reliability and reduced emissions. TACOM's Combat Hybrid Power Systems laboratory, located at BAE Systems, is focused on the design of the next generation of combat vehicles that rely on electrical power for propulsion, sensors and weapons.
