Armoured Vehicle Support Initiative
BAE Systems Land Systems is partnering with the MoD to deliver the Armoured Vehicle Support Initiative (AVSi).
What is AVSi?
By creating strategic relationships with the Industrial Supply Chain through BAE Systems we will determine the most effective support solution for the AFV fleet by making the most efficient use of MoD resources and industrial capability, to deliver increased availability and reduced costs
The main aims of the project are:
- Assist DE&S in moving from provider to decider
- See DE&S and BAE Systems working together to deliver benefit to the front line
- Deliver pan platform efficiencies
- Consolidate traditional support into an integrated platform support service
- Enable coherence of Through Life Management between support and upgrade
The programme is split into five vehicle groups as follows which will be rolled out consecutively:

Vehicle Group 2 – Warrior & variants

Vehicle Group 3 – CVR(T) & variants

Vehicle Group 4 – FV430 & variants

Vehicle Group 5 – Viking, Hippo & Light Gun
BAE Systems will work with the Industrial Supply Chain in categories such as, but not limited to:

Environmental control systems & NBC systems
