Long-range hyperspectral imaging system (LORHIS)

Long-range hyperspectral imaging system (LORHIS)

Long-Range Hyperspectral Imaging System (LORHIS) is revolutionizing conventional reconnaissance.

Configurable to both manned and unmanned aircraft, LORHIS automatically detects and identifies camouflaged, concealed and deceptive targets as well as chemical gas plumes invisible to the naked eye. Through the use of image chipping, bandwidth is significantly reduced and only actionable information is presented to an image analyst. By eliminating unnecessary information and positively identifying targets according to their hyperspectral signature, LORHIS supports the goal of a single digit sensor-to-shooter cycle.

LORHIS Features:

  • Day and night operation
  • Auto detect and identify camouflaged, concealed, and deception targets
  • Auto identify/classify gases and vapors
  • Auto target classification
  • Auto target cueing (precision coordinates)
  • Auto sweep and search for targets
  • Auto separation of real vs. decoy targets
  • Large area sweep/unit time

LORHIS Potential applications:

  • Rapid precision targeting
  • Combat assessment
  • Counter proliferation
  • Terrain analysis
  • Broad area coverage
  • Real-time analysis
