MUGS is a prototype mobile ground station command, control and communications test bed to prove the operational utility of Low-Earth Orbit and Near Space assets, collecting and disseminating information to the warfighter.
MUGS supports the Joint Warfighting Space (JWS) architecture, encompassing space, near-space, and land assets. MUGS will be able to acquire, track, and command rapidly moving space and near-space platforms and downlink missions.
BAE Systems is the MUGS System Integrator under the STARS contract with the U.S. Army Space & Missile Defense Battle Lab.
