The Rugged Computer Display (RCD) is a cost effective user terminal solution.
The RCD unit makes provision for normal PC interfaces such as LCD video display, function keys, peripheral control circuitry, video capture module, solid-state flash and a high performance processor unit.
The RCD is PC compatible and supports standard operating systems like Windows 2000, - XP or Linux. The RCD man machine interface can be customized for application specific usage of the soft keys, overlay or the optional keyboard functions.
The RCD user interface consists of 12x soft key buttons, which can:
- be multicoloured, and labelled on the membrane to function as hot keys, or
- labelled by means of overlays on the LCD screen, therefore having
- multiple functions, depending on the menu subroutine structure (customer driven).
A user defined text and graphical overlay is generated through the applicable operating system's standard drawing library.
A conventional alphanumeric keyboard can be connected via the USB port.
Basic characteristics of the display:
- XGA, 1024(H) x 768(V) pixel, 262 144 colours, 75Hz Refresh rate.
- 10.4 inch diagonal, aspect ratio 4:3, display area: 210.4(W) x 157.8(H) mm.
- Viewing angle, Hz +/- 60?, Vertical +45? / -60?.
- Luminance, up to 1500cd/m; dimming ratio, 300:1
- Software programmable contrast and brightness adjustment.
