Desert Piranha III is a family of 8x8 light armoured fighting vehicles optimised for the desert and meeting all the requirements for a fighting vehicle to be mission capable in a harsh desert environment.
Whilst retaining the original Piranha concept, the Piranha III family of 8x8 armoured vehicles incorporates a range of state-of-the-art features designed to counter threats and meet requirements well into the future. The proven high-survivability hull design provides modular ballistic protection with the use of add-on armour packages and includes advanced mine protection, featuring a double floor in the troop compartment, spall liner and seats suspended from the vehicle roof.
Similar versions are in service with the Swiss, New Zealand, Canadian, Danish, Irish, Spanish and US Armed Forces.
