Bradley A3 vehicle diagnostic management system
BAE Systems' vehicle diagnostic management system (VDMS) is an embedded software application that provides vehicle functional status-check support to U.S. Army crew and maintenance personnel.
BAE Systems' VDMS performs subsystem fault diagnoses to expedite unit-level repairs and reduces dependence on at-system external test measurement and diagnostic equipment. VDMS isolates 95% of faults to a single line-replaceable unit or cable using embedded resources. When on-vehicle resources are unable to reach an unambiguous fault isolation decision (less than 5% of total faults), the maintainer is able to augment the on-system VDMS with external measurement support. For example, on the Bradley ground vehicle, VDMS provides fault code to the integrated family of test equipment – soldier's portable on-system repair tool (IFTE-SPORT)-based Bradley automated diagnostic system for external measurement support.
The modular VDMS/IFTE-SPORT architecture can be extended to other vehicle or platform systems.
