Uncooled IR camera cores manufactured by BAE Systems are utilized in IR cameras manufactured by OEMs, targeting the plant predictive/preventive maintenance, research and development, and process monitoring/control markets.
IR cameras provide the end user with a non-contact means to study the thermal properties of components while under mechanical and/or electrical load.
For the maintenance professional, this means the thermal characteristics of electrical components, pumps, and motors can be viewed while the item is under load with no disruption to the downstream process.
Likewise, the research and development engineer realizes the benefits of studying the thermal characteristics of a target under the intended operating conditions. For process monitoring and/or control, IR cameras provide a non-contact means of monitoring thermal properties critical to the process.
