Q-HUD head room
The Q-HUD™ is a high-performance head-up display system for commercial aircraft that is more reliable, competitively priced, and is 50 percent smaller and lighter than current-generation systems. This low-profile unit fits the smaller cockpits of many business and regional jets, and offers the pilot greater range of head motion.
Based on a patented breakthrough in optical technology, the Q-HUD system manipulates light using holographic waveguides, injecting images and data into the display glass in the pilot’s forward field of view. This novel image generation concept eliminates the need for the complex, heavy, and expensive projection-lens configurations common to traditional head-up displays, where images are projected onto the glass surface, and allows the Q-HUD system to deliver both acquisition and life-cycle cost savings.
