Wheeler Communication Antenna Systems Laboratory

Wheeler Communication Antenna Systems Laboratory

The Wheeler antenna lab, at our Greenlawn, New York facility, is an established leader in the industry, supporting more than 100 patents for a broad range of antenna innovations.

Supported technologies include:

  • Low-cost phased array antennas for aircraft
  • Low radar cross-section (RCS) CNI antennas
  • HF/VHF military vehicle antennas
  • Reflector antennas for diverse applications
  • Cellular base station antennas
  • Large ground-based phased arrays
  • Computer modeling of antennas

Our communication antenna systems laboratory has been operational since May 1992, and is our continually updated, state-of-the-art antenna measurement facility.

Its three indoor chambers feature a fully equipped 46-foot anechoic compact range for both antenna and RCS measurements from 0.5 through 18 GHz, and includes two outdoor antenna pattern ranges, instrumented from 100 MHz to 60 GHz

Our flexible anechoic chamber is designed to measure either RCS or antenna patterns.

A compact range anechoic chamber measures antenna pattern and gain.

We also have an on-site outdoor measurement range, using two signal-source auxiliary buildings. This 400-ft range can measure antenna pattern and gain, using a ground-reflecting configuration. Rooftop cranes allow for up to 2000 pound loads to be lifted to 84 feet.
