CATS-DISU improves skills in handling weapon system and gives the gunner a high fidelity feedback needed for a steadily improving learning curve.
The software application for Precision Gunnary Training (PGT) is an essential tool for the instructor to Plan, Prepare, Execute and Evaluate PGT Exercises.
Data is collected from weapon simulators by means of radio communication, serial communication (RS232), LAN connection or imported text files.
Precision in training
Any PGT exercise consists of a series of events where each event is defined with weapon system used, type of ammunition, target view as well as fidelity requirements regarding hit precision, kill probability and engagement time.
The instructor can, with the CATS-DISU system, tailor their requirements suiting any doctrine or specific training objective – both on individual and/or collective level.
The system is designed to run on Windows operating systems. Events such as laser measure, bursts, fall or shot, dispersion rat and hit inclination are all matched and compared with prepared exercises.
Each gunner will be – individually – graded and given positive training feedback relevant to the identified training objective.
Evaluation of exercises can be done both in Real Time and After Action.
Reports and training feedback can be printed for handouts during an After Action debriefing session as well as shown on a screen or large screen projector in the form of a graphical presentation.
Integrated with man-worn equipment and other DFWES simulators in an instrumented environment, the CATS-DISU is also the optimal solution for low cost Home Station Live training, giving operator analysists and drill masters an advanced tool for exercise control (EXCON) and After Action Review within the 100 player limitation.
The CATS-DISU is part of the BAE Systems C-ITS EXCON family, supporting EXCON, AWES and AAR requirements and functionality from Platoon through to Battalion level Force on Force Training.
