Land Systems OMC manufactures the vehicle platform for the famed G6 self-propelled six-wheeled gun howitzer system, which is a product of the Denel Group of companies.
Although designed primarily for the G6, this stabilized platform is eminently suitable for a variety of other systems including gun and missile systems and radars with a combat mass of more than 15 tonnes.
The outstanding feature of the G6 is its exceptional mobility. The armoured 6x6 platform is equipped with a 365 kW (480 HP) air-cooled engine delivering all-wheel drive through a Renk automatic transmission. Stability, excellent all-terrain performance and user friendly support are features of this versatile, proven platform.
The G6 vehicle platform is highly adaptable to carry other turret and weapon systems of up to 18 000kg.
